1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the Book My Event website and related services (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to fans, organisers and other visitors using www.bookmyevent.co.nz and associated platforms operated by Book My Event (“we”, “us”, “our”).
2. Who we are
Book My Event is an event discovery and ticketing platform based in Auckland, New Zealand. We help users find events and purchase tickets, and we provide tools for organisers to list and manage ticketed shows.
3. Accounts and eligibility
Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be legally able to enter into these terms in your jurisdiction.
4. Event listings and tickets
- Event details (dates, venues, prices and availability) are provided by organisers or sourced for listing purposes and may change.
- A ticket purchase forms a contract between you and the event organiser, subject to that organiser’s event-specific rules.
- We facilitate booking and payment flows but are not the promoter of every event unless stated otherwise.
- Ticket availability is not guaranteed until checkout is completed successfully.
5. Payments, fees and refunds
Prices are shown at checkout and may include booking or service fees where applicable. Payment is processed through secure payment providers. Refunds, exchanges and cancellations follow the organiser’s policy for each event, unless required otherwise by New Zealand consumer law. If an event is cancelled or postponed, we will communicate available options as advised by the organiser.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with platform security
- Use automated tools to scrape content or abuse booking flows
- Resell tickets in breach of organiser rules or applicable law
- Post unlawful, misleading or harmful content
7. Intellectual property
The Book My Event name, logo, website design and platform content are owned by us or our licensors. Event artwork and descriptions may belong to organisers or rights holders. You may not copy or reuse our branding without permission.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We aim for accurate listings and reliable booking, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every listing is error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other non-excludable New Zealand law. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to re-supply of the services or the cost of re-supply, where permitted.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
